When a child becomes 6 years old, he have to go to the primary school.
The primary school is for 6-11 years old children.
When he has finishished his primary school, he have to go to the secondary school.
That school is for children between 11 and 16 years old.
At the end of the secondary school, children have to do an exam, and if they succeed they get a diploma.
Everyone gets the same kind of a diploma, and that's similar with a Dutch vmbo-t diploma.
The last two years are called high school, and that's for children between 16 and 18 years old.
Most children wear a school uniform.
The school uniform for boys is shorts and a shirt, for girls is that a skirt and a blouse.
The shirts and blouses are white or checkered, the shorts and skirts are blue or brown.
Most of the children wear thongs by their school uniforms.
The government finances only children between 6 and 14 years old to go to school.
Higher education in India is getting better the last time, at this moment there are 16.000 colleges and more than 320 universities.
There are many different courses, and in total there are about 9,3 million students.
